A chair of excellence: ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR at the School of Mathematics
As part of its strategy of international scientific excellence, the School of Mathematics of the University of Geneva is recruiting a professor of exceptional standing. This position is intended for a distinguished researcher of international stature, recognized for the excellence of their scientific work, their ability to lead research teams, and their potential to have a lasting impact on pure or applied mathematics.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a distinguished academic trajectory, evidenced by publications in top journals, established international recognition, as well as a strategic vision for developing an ambitious and innovative research program. The University particularly values profiles capable of contributing to interdisciplinary excellence, in connection with UNIGE’s strong research areas (pure and applied mathematics, theoretical physics, computer science, life sciences, etc.).
Description
- Carry out world-class research.
- Develop and supervise innovative projects with strong potential for external funding.
- Actively participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Contribute to the scientific visibility of the School of Mathematics and the University.
- Assume academic and organizational responsibilities within the Faculty of Sciences.
The position is open on a full-time or part-time basis, with a permanent appointment. It offers a stimulating research environment, extensive administrative support, substantial start-up funding, and the opportunity to recruit doctoral and postdoctoral researchers. If no candidate meets the expected criteria, the University of Geneva reserves the right to close the competition for this position.
Requirements
- PhD in sciences or equivalent title.
- Internationally recognized publication record.
- Proven ability to develop innovative and collaborative research.
