Within the Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy department (Director: Prof. Dr. Elmar Habermeyer), the Forensic Assessment & Risk Management unit (FFA) supports the Zurich public prosecutors, the threat management units of the Zurich cantonal police, the city police of Zurich and Winterthur, as well as the general psychiatric clinics of the canton of Zurich in complex threat and risk situations concerning private individuals, authorities, and public figures. It provides timely risk assessments with intervention recommendations and actively participates in violence prevention and conflict de-escalation within the framework of the cantonal threat management.
Your tasks
- Consultative specialist medical advice to clients
- Independent expert opinions to clinics, police, judiciary, and other partners
- Case discussions in individual and team settings
- Preparation of written risk assessments under the supervision of the (deputy) unit management
- Active participation in risk management (especially police and clinical settings)
- Professional interdisciplinary networking internally and externally
Your profile
- Solid knowledge in forensic prognosis and risk management (ideally FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy with a focus on forensic psychiatry)
- Experience in acute/emergency psychiatry and/or in consultation-liaison psychiatry desired
- Advanced skills in writing risk assessments
- Knowledge in the use of risk assessment tools
- Team-oriented and interprofessional approach as well as good communication skills
- Analytical thinking, empathy, and assertiveness
