Your Main Tasks
- You coordinate inpatient and outpatient treatment – including rounds, nursing consultations, and organization of necessary clarifications (radiology, consultations, laboratory, etc.) according to SOP and in consultation with the medical team
- You independently take anamnesis and status and present your patients in reports and boards
- You coach patients, e.g., on perioperative adherence or symptom management
- You conduct daily rounds including physical examinations and communicate your findings purposefully within the team
- You adjust prescriptions in KISIM (new prescriptions are made in collaboration with specialists)
- You care for surgical wounds (e.g., skin sutures) and independently remove thoracic drains after case discussion
- You are the first contact person for questions about drain management and perform troubleshooting
- You instruct new assistant doctors in ward procedures (including KISIM)
- You conduct your own nursing consultations, also within the framework of our Enhanced Recovery Program and Prehab Program
- You have the opportunity to specialize in a sub-area, e.g., transplantation or general thoracic surgery
Administration & Coordination
- You communicate with internal and external referrers (home care, rehabilitation clinics, specialists, etc.)
- You coordinate discharges, schedule follow-up appointments, and prepare referral and discharge reports
Your Profile
- Completed MScN or you are about to complete it
- Several years of clinical experience, ideally in a complex, acute medical environment
- Solid knowledge in clinical assessment, pharmacotherapy, perioperative management, and ideally in thoracic or transplantation surgery
- Interest in scientific projects
- Willingness to actively shape the role as a nursing specialist and initiate new processes
- You like to take responsibility and see yourself as a role model in the team
