As the Urban Development Section and part of the City Building Office, we are committed to a future-oriented, sustainable development of the city of Aarau. To this end, we develop strategies, concepts and measures on the key topics of urban planning, mobility, neighbourhood and housing development, ecology and climate as an interdisciplinary team, taking into account social and economic aspects.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a
Your main tasks
You will support the co-head of Environment and Climate in a variety of tasks at the interface of biodiversity, environment and urban development. In particular, you will take on the following activities:
Collaboration on projects in the areas of biodiversity and environment
Collaboration on the further development of foundations and instruments to promote biodiversity
Support in the building permit process (e.g. review of site plans, plant lists and ecological requirements)
Participation in the care and enhancement of nature conservation areas and ecologically valuable sites
Collaboration in the implementation of measures to promote biodiversity and in dealing with invasive neophytes
Support in awareness-raising and communication measures (e.g. wild shrub campaign)
Participation in handling enquiries from the public and political initiatives.
The selection of projects in which you will be involved will be made jointly and based on your personal interests and skills.
Your profile
You have a master’s degree in biology, environmental sciences or a related discipline and are interested in political processes. You are communicative, curious, proactive and a team player, and you work precisely and independently. In addition, you enjoy interdisciplinary issues.
