The University of Bern has continuously expanded its support services for lecturers in the areas of e-learning, e-assessment, and video in teaching in recent years. Therefore, we are looking for support in the following areas: support and further development of ILIAS according to the needs of the University of Bern as well as performance optimizations on ILIAS.
Tasks
- Support in hosting, operating, and upgrading the open-source learning platform ILIAS and other systems to support teaching
- Participating in planning, preparing, and monitoring the implementation of interfaces to ILIAS
- Monitoring and improving ILIAS with monitoring tools
- Support in security issues. Assessment of risks in the operation of ILIAS. Proposing security measures and monitoring their compliance.
- Maintenance and adjustment of the ILIAS plugins of the University of Bern: Opencast, Tools, KSL interfaces
- Answering support inquiries within the application support for ILIAS
- General and organizational tasks within the employment at ILUB
Requirements
- Computer scientist with vocational training and further education or with advanced computer science studies
- Linux knowledge (especially Apache, MySQL, PHP)
- Knowledge in object-oriented programming
- Team ability and ability to work independently
- High degree of independence and sense of responsibility
- Strong communication skills, enjoyment of a service-oriented work culture
