Department Head Security and Maintenance 100% (m/f/d)
Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres for families, individuals and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at currently five locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the Cantonal Social Office Zurich (KSA) since March 2024. For the cross-location department management in the Security and Maintenance department, we are looking for a responsible specialist.
Your tasks
- Management and further development of the security organisation in accordance with legal, cantonal and Caritas internal requirements as well as the applicable ASA solution
- Professional leadership and development of the security officers (SIBE) and maintenance staff across all asylum locations
- Professional training and advice as well as exchange of experience
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with mandate, centre, team and department management as well as internal and external specialist offices
- Standardisation of standards for maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, hygiene, disposal and logistics
- Deficiency, repair and order management with responsibilities, priorities, deadlines and completion control
- Technical and operational prevention: fire protection, evacuation, emergency organisation, first aid, lone working, work equipment, machinery, electricity, hazardous substances, protective equipment, safety data sheets, maintenance as well as building and site security
- Health protection: ergonomics, physical strain, hygiene, infection protection, indoor climate, noise as well as health-appropriate workplaces and processes in coordination with the Health Department management
Our requirements
- Professional training in the technical, craft, infrastructural or operational field
- Further training in facility management or maintenance is an advantage
- SIBE training or willingness to undertake it as well as sound knowledge of EKAS guideline 6508, the ASA solution and operational safety requirements
- Several years of experience in security organisation, maintenance, facility management, operational maintenance, logistics as well as in professional leadership or project responsibility
- Communication, team, social and intercultural skills
- Independent, structured, solution-oriented and resilient working style
- Analytical thinking, organisational talent and constructive handling of conflicts
- Very good German skills, spoken English skills and ideally another language of the persons cared for
- Confident handling of MS Office and digital control and documentation systems
- Driving licence B as well as willingness to work across locations and services
