Following the departure of the current post holder, the Medical Directorate of the Fribourg hospital
is seeking a

Head Physician of the Neurology Department
80-100 %

Your mission:

• Ensure the leadership and development of the Neurology Department
• Collaborate with the outpatient and inpatient services of the HFR and with the Fribourg outpatient network
• Supervise and participate in the training of senior consultants, assistant doctors in training including those on rotation within the department, and medical candidates
• Participate in the teaching of medical students (Bachelor and Master) at the University of Fribourg and other teaching duties

Your profile:

• Possess an ISFM specialist title in neurology (or equivalent, with Mebeko recognition)
• Have extensive clinical experience covering all aspects of neurology with a subspecialisation
• Have proven leadership, management and organisational experience as a senior physician in a university or significant regional hospital, with management training
• Hold an academic title (at least Privatdozent) or be on track to obtain one shortly
• Have research experience and management of research funds
• Have solid teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Excellent communication, integration and collaboration skills within an interprofessional team, as well as with other HFR professionals or practising doctors
• Communicative and committed personality
• Fluency in French or German with good knowledge of the other language (minimum level B2)

• You lead and develop the Neurology Department.
• You collaborate with the outpatient and inpatient departments of the HFR as well as with the outpatient network of the Canton of Fribourg.
• You supervise the training of senior and assistant doctors, including those on rotation in your department, as well as medical students, and actively participate yourself.
• You contribute to the teaching of Bachelor and Master medical students at the University of Fribourg and other teaching assignments.

Profile

• FMH specialist in neurology (or equivalent specialist title with MEBEKO recognition)
• Broad clinical experience covering all aspects of neurology, with a subspecialisation in a neurology subfield
• Proven experience in leadership, administration and organisation as a senior physician in a university hospital or a large regional hospital, management training
• Academic title (at least Privatdozent) or in the process of obtaining one shortly
• Experience in research and handling research funds
• Solid teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
• Excellent communication and integration skills, team spirit for working in an interprofessional team as well as collaboration with other HFR professionals and practising doctors
• Communicative and committed personality
• German or French with good knowledge of the other language (minimum level B2)
