AUDI requires optimal access security for its new data centre. The building's requirements demand it.

SMACS solutions were already installed 10 years ago in other AUDI data centres.

The new data centre has various airlocks equipped with SMACS FlexMat, which automatically secure both people flows and material flows simultaneously.

Lausanne, Switzerland – 16 February 2022

FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of the new AUDI data centre project on the IN-Campus in Ingolstadt, Germany. AUDI had already installed SMACS solutions in other data centres 10 years ago. Based on positive feedback, AUDI wishes to use SMACS solutions again in its new data centre. Consequently, the 2-door and 3-door airlocks of the new data centre are equipped with SMACS FlexMat.

The challenge: AUDI is building a new data centre on the "IN-Campus" technology park in Ingolstadt, Germany. A key point of this project is that access security must be guaranteed not only for people flows but also for material flows up to 2.5 m in length. Besides security, great flexibility of use is required. For example, it must be possible to fully open the airlock as well as to allow the use of the airlock in "single airlock" mode, without uniqueness control.

The solution: The new data centre has the same requirements as existing AUDI data centres, where SMACS systems have been used since 2012. Given the positive experience of their use over nearly 10 years, AUDI has again opted for FASTCOM's SMACS solutions.
