About the job
You have gained your experience and know what you are capable of. Now you are looking for an anaesthesia position where you can take responsibility, work broadly, and yet no longer have to subordinate your private life to every duty roster?
In this manageable regional hospital, you are in demand as an experienced anaesthetist with a broad range of expertise: general and regional anaesthesia, operating theatre, interventional procedures and IMC. You work independently, are taken seriously and at the same time are part of a team that supports each other.
Ideal for doctors who consciously seek a smaller, more personal hospital environment: short distances, a lot of personal responsibility, a well-organised duty model and professional breadth without permanent duty burden.
The hospital is part of a strong healthcare network in Eastern Switzerland and offers a broad regional basic and acute care. The Clinic for Anaesthesiology, Emergency and Pain Medicine cares for patients in the operating theatre, during interventional procedures as well as in the postoperative and monitored areas.
The duty operation is well organised: during the week, a three-shift system with overlapping duties is used. The late shift starts at 12:00, the night shift at 22:00. At night, the workload is usually manageable. In addition, there is approximately one weekend duty per month, and the chief physician takes individual wishes into account when planning duties whenever possible.
At the same time, the hospital network offers you professional support, modern working tools and development opportunities beyond your own location.
Your tasks:
- Independent anaesthesiological care of patients in a versatile regional operating theatre environment
- Use of general and regional anaesthesia procedures for planned as well as emergency interventions
- Perioperative care of a broad patient spectrum, especially older and multiply ill patients
- Medical co-responsibility for postoperative and monitored patients in the IMC
- Independent work in day, late, night and weekend shifts with support from experienced senior physicians
- Professional guidance of younger colleagues and practical knowledge transfer within the interprofessional team
- Close coordination with operating theatre management, nursing, IMC and the surgical disciplines
Your competencies:
- Specialist title in anaesthesiology, recognised in Germany or the EU; support with recognition in Switzerland through Medimeo
- Several years of professional experience after obtaining the specialist title and confidence in broad anaesthesiological practice
- Routine in general and regional anaesthesia as well as enjoyment of a versatile patient spectrum
- Experience in perioperative care of more complex patients, especially with multimorbidity and advanced age
- Knowledge in IMC or intensive care is an advantage
- High degree of independence, good clinical judgement and pragmatic working style
- Enjoyment of responsibility in a manageable hospital environment
- Collegial personality who enjoys sharing knowledge and contributes to a positive team culture
- Good command of German, spoken and written
Your benefits:
- Much personal responsibility with support from an experienced team and exchange on equal terms
- Manageable hospital environment with short distances and personal collaboration
- Well-organised three-shift system during the week with overlapping duties
- Generally manageable night workload
- Approximately one weekend duty per month
- Consideration of individual duty preferences
- Committed team with a strong and positive clinical culture
- Wide range of internal and external training and continuing education opportunities
