Emmental Hospital ensures high-quality medical care for 150,000 residents around the clock with specialists at its two hospital locations in Burgdorf and Langnau.

Head of Operations and Building Technology (a) 80–100%

What we expect from you

• In this responsible role, you ensure the trouble-free operation of all technical systems and facilities of the hospital
• You are responsible for ensuring that defined operating standards, efficient processes, as well as legal and regulatory requirements are complied with and implemented
• With leadership strength and organisational skill, you lead your department with 17 employees and continuously develop it
• You plan and implement technical projects in the areas of modernisation, maintenance, and repair – proactively, economically, and practically
• Thanks to your strategic foresight, you budget investments and technical maintenance so that long-term value preservation and operational safety are guaranteed. Without investment backlog and without unnecessary oversizing
• You shape collaboration with colleagues, authorities, specialist offices, external companies, as well as suppliers in a solution-oriented manner and with joy in professional exchange

What you need to be successful

• Your original background is a technical profession. Nevertheless, you have meanwhile acquired knowledge and practical experience in personnel management and business administration
• Operating theatre ventilation, vacuum, pneumatic tube system, and medical gases? Experience in the hospital environment is a particular advantage with us
• You are confident in your expertise yet open to other ideas and opinions
• You convince through pronounced social competence and communicate confidently, appropriately for the audience, and reliably
• Even when it gets hectic: you remain calm, keep an overview, and react thoughtfully
• Your openness to innovation is shown, among other things, in close and constructive collaboration with the "Transformation & Digitalisation" department
• Whether occupational safety/security, construction project management, medical technology management, or strategic space planning: you understand other functions as partners on an equal footing, even across organisational boundaries
• You are aware that our buildings and facilities form the basis for patient care. You meet this responsibility from the outset with professionalism, respect, composure, and a high quality standard
