The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences in Switzerland. Your tasks
- Acceptance testing, completion, assembly, maintenance, and repair of magnets in the PSI facilities
- Preparation and assistance with magnetic field measurements (setting up, leveling, and connecting to water and power supply)
- General mechanical work (turning, milling, CNC milling, drilling as well as hard and soft soldering)
- Responsibility for maintenance and support in the further development of laboratory, measurement, and workshop equipment
- Winding and vacuum potting of coils (under guidance)
- Active participation in the design and manufacture of special tools and fixtures
Your profile
- Completed vocational training as a polymechanic and further training as a technician HF (mechanical engineering) or equivalent education
- High teamwork skills combined with a structured working style and assertiveness
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as confident communication in English
- Good application knowledge in MS Office
