Head of Department Social Work and Mandates at kjz Uster, 70 - 80%Good for life - that is our motto. The Office for Youth and Career Counselling (AJB) is responsible for child and youth welfare as well as career counselling. Children, young people and families are at the centre of our work. We dedicate ourselves to them daily with great passion and commitment.
The kjz (Child and Youth Welfare Centre) is a polyvalent counselling centre for families, parents, young people, children and toddlers and operates on the basis of the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
For the Department of Social Work and Mandates at kjz Uster, we are looking for a head (70 - 80%) from 1 June 2026 or by arrangement. You will lead a committed team of 6 - 8 social workers and shape a sustainable team culture. In your role as a professional sparring partner, you accompany your team in demanding case constellations and ensure the quality of casework. At the same time, you are responsible for the professional and personnel management of your department and actively shape its further development. Within the strategic framework of the AJB, you independently set priorities and contribute your professional perspective to overarching decisions.
You bring:
- A university of applied sciences degree in social work or equivalent qualification
- Solid experience in child protection
- Leadership experience or willingness to complete leadership training
- Enjoyment in coaching and promoting employees
- Excellent communication skills and high social competence
- Decisive, resilient and assertive personality
