The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Basel and the University Hospital of Baselare looking to fill the position ofProfessor of Neurosurgery The Neurosurgical Clinic at the University Hospital Basel is one of the leading neurosurgical clinics in Switzerland in terms of research and services, with an international reputation. The research focus of the professorship will be on neuro-oncological neurosurgery.
Your position
You will be consultant in the neurosurgery clinic (clinically subordinated to the Chief Physician) of the University Hospital Basel. With your clinical expertise and your background in research, you will strengthen the national and international visibility of Neurosurgery at the University of Basel. You will apply your clinical expertise and interest in teaching to secure and advance state-of-the-art training and continuing education of neurosurgicalassistants and senior physicians in accordance with the requirements of the Swiss Institute for Medical Training and Continuing Education (SIWF). With your commitment to university research and teaching, you inspire students and promote young academics in neurosurgery. Your participative, goaloriented understanding of leadership will ensure an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists. You will lead a neurosurgery research group and create a productive environment for a successful research team.
Your profile
You have broad neurosurgical experience with a special focus on neurooncological neurosurgery. You have successfully conducted your own research, including securing competitive third-party funding, in the area of neurooncological neurosurgery. You have proven leadership experience in an academic environment. Your distinctive expertise, leadership, and outstanding communication skills place you in an ideal position to gain acceptance and trust. You are able to create an attractive work environment, inspire creative thinking that can be put into action, and encourage your employees. You have a very good command of German.
