The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) are offering a position for: Associate Professor and Assistant Physician in the field of cerebrovascular diseases and neurosonology within the Neurology Department.

Context
The Neurology Department is seeking an Associate Professor, Assistant Physician for its Cerebrovascular Diseases Unit with its certified Cerebrovascular Center. This Unit is responsible for the care of patients suffering from cerebrovascular pathologies, including their prevention, diagnosis, acute treatment, and post-hospital follow-up. The Unit is also responsible for the Clinical Neurosonology Laboratory for the evaluation of cervical and intracranial arteries in multiple cerebrovascular pathologies.
Mission
Job responsibilities:
- Manage cerebrovascular and neurological patients as a senior physician and oversee the outpatient cerebrovascular consultation
- Lead or co-lead the Clinical Neurosonology Laboratory for inpatient and outpatient care
- Co-lead the clinical neurovascular research laboratory, develop a high-quality/performance research program with international recognition within the Cerebrovascular Center
- Provide advanced cerebrovascular and neurological teaching
- Offer expert advice to practitioners (physicians, nurses, therapists, etc.)
Profile
Desired profile:
- Federal Medical Diploma (or recognized MEBEKO title mandatory) and MD or MD-PhD
- ISFM specialist or equivalent title (recognized MEBEKO mandatory) in neurology
- Certificate of the additional training program in cerebrovascular sonography from the Swiss Society of Clinical Neurophysiology (SSNC), or equivalent titles (or willingness to acquire this certificate within 2 years after starting employment)
- Proof of expertise in cerebrovascular diseases and neurosonology
- Evidence of leadership in academic research in cerebrovascular diseases and/or neurosonology
- Recognized managerial skills in leading and managing a research team and in international collaborations
- Publication list demonstrating academic excellence Academic knowledge and expertise at the professorial level with confirmed practice in pre- and postgraduate teaching
- Ability to establish clinical research programs likely to be supported by expert external funding
- Good knowledge of French (native language or minimum B2, C1 ideal) or ability to acquire it quickly
- Excellent knowledge of English.
