Social Pedagogical Key Worker MNA (80-100%, fixed-term), Zurich-Oerlikon
Since March 2024, Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centers for families, individuals, and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at currently five locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the cantonal social office (KSA).
As a social pedagogical specialist and key worker, you are responsible for the personal and age-appropriate care, support, and integration of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers at the MNA center on Regensbergstrasse in Zurich-Oerlikon. This position is initially limited until the end of January 2026.
Your tasks
- Social pedagogical and psychosocial support and care of the youth within the framework of the key worker system
- Promotion of the youth in various areas of life (school, leisure, health, money management) with individual goals and goal reviews
- Development of needs-based daily structures and leisure activities for and with the youth
- Promotion of social and self-competence, independence, and psychological and social integrity as well as establishing a binding framework for communal living
- Crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Active interdisciplinary coordination and planning within the team (including close cooperation with the guardianship of the minor youth)
- Budget responsibility according to the implementation guidelines of the canton of Zurich and the requirements of Caritas Switzerland as well as preparing the accounts
- External networking with cooperation partners and organizations
- Co-responsibility for creating a good house atmosphere and for compliance with house rules and safety in the center
Our requirements
- Completed recognized social pedagogical training (or equivalent)
- Experience in the migration field and/or youth work desirable
- Very good German skills, additional foreign language skills an advantage
- Intercultural competence
- Willingness and flexibility to work varying hours (shift/weekend work)
- High sense of responsibility and quality awareness for working with vulnerable, at-risk youth
- Initiative, independence, teamwork skills, and assertiveness
- High resilience and ability to cope with stress
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Impeccable reputation
