Operating Theatre Secretary at the Orthopaedic Hospital
The Department of the Locomotor System (DAL) is seeking a secretary at 80% to 100%, on a permanent contract, to join the operating theatre of the Orthopaedic Hospital. The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of the Locomotor System (DAL) specialises in the management of osteoarticular, muscular, and peripheral nerve pathologies, whether degenerative or traumatic in origin.
You will join a dynamic team within the operating theatre of the Orthopaedic Hospital, a stimulating environment where you contribute to the smooth running of administrative and logistical activities in support of the medical and nursing teams.
Mission
- You ensure the management of orders for sterile medical devices as well as their administrative follow-up (handling disputes, new requirements, returns of unused equipment)
- You collaborate with various stakeholders to create, modify or delete consigned equipment references
- You ensure the scanning of equipment in the Digistat software
- You manage the operating theatre stocks: creation and updating of items, stock withdrawals, monitoring of expiry dates, and internal and external billing
- You participate in other administrative activities of the operating theatre.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification
- You have at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- You possess excellent writing skills and very good typing abilities
- You have knowledge of English and German
- You are proficient with common office tools (Microsoft Office); knowledge of CHUV-specific tools is an asset
- You demonstrate excellent organisational skills, can manage priorities, have good analytical and synthesis abilities, and are recognised for your rigour and adaptability.
