About the job
Your new role
On behalf of the authority members, you conduct in-depth situational analyses in child and adult protection law procedures within the Specialist Service Social Assessment. In doing so, you collaborate with various support services and external specialist agencies. You draft assessment reports with professional recommendations for the authority or decision drafts and hearing protocols. As part of the telephone and counter service, you also receive notifications and triage them to upstream agencies.
This position is for you if
- You have professional experience in the psychosocial field, preferably in statutory social work.
- You have a completed degree in Social Work or Psychology.
- You have experience in conducting conversations and applying various conversational methods, ideally also in dealing with resistance.
- You present yourself transparently and confidently and are able to maintain professional relationships with the parties involved in the proceedings.
- You can express yourself very well orally and in writing.
- You enjoy engaging with specialist topics and actively contribute in this regard.
- You work conscientiously, responsibly, and precisely.
- You think in a networked and analytical manner.
- You are resilient and flexible.
- You are a assertive, empathetic, and socially competent personality.

The Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) is responsible for implementing child and adult protection law. The KESB Region St.Gallen also fulfils the tasks of the KESB for the political municipalities of Eggersriet, Häggenschwil, Muolen, and Wittenbach. We work in an interdisciplinary team and value the interaction with the affected children, adults, and other parties involved in the proceedings.
