Apprenticeship as Gardener EFZ, Garden and Landscape Construction

The Civil Engineering Office with its approximately 160 employees takes care of the city streets, pipelines, green spaces, and playgrounds, in short: various infrastructures that shape the daily life of the population. The landscape gardeners at Industriestrasse 2 in Thun are part of the Civil Engineering Office in the Operations and Maintenance department of the city of Thun.

Starting August 1, 2026, we offer an apprenticeship in green space maintenance

• Maintenance of city green spaces: flower meadows and lawns, flower beds and seasonal plantings, as well as care of trees, shrubs, and hedges
• Designing and planting new planting areas
• Carrying out gardening projects
• Implementing measures to promote biodiversity

• Good school education in the subjects of mathematics, languages, and natural sciences
• Interest in nature and plants
• Good imagination and enjoyment of working with machines
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Manual skills and physical fitness
