Within the Air and Climate team at Ramboll France, about ten people are dedicated to supporting climate policies and strategies. They provide their consulting and research expertise at local, national and international levels. Their field of expertise concerns supporting public decision-makers in the development and implementation of adaptation and mitigation policies and the development of methodologies and knowledge on specific levers of climate action or also with companies.
In terms of climate change adaptation, the team’s missions cover: diagnostics and analyses of climate risks (territory or company), support for climate governance, support for the development of strategies and action plans at different territorial scales or within companies, development of reference frameworks and tools, cost-benefit analyses of adaptation, training and capacity building, access to climate services, and the establishment of monitoring and evaluation systems for measures and programmes implemented.
We are looking for a 6-month intern (m/f/x) in the final year of engineering studies or equivalent master’s degree in the field of environment, climate change adaptation, development economics or political science, for our Aix-en-Provence office.
Under the supervision of an internship tutor and project directors, you will be trained as a junior project engineer in the field of climate change adaptation.
Internship description:
During this internship, you will be involved in the following tasks, linked to a research issue refined with you at the start of the internship:
Mainly: defining and planning strategies / action plans / roadmaps on adaptation at different scales (France and international), for various audiences (governments and institutional agencies, local authorities, companies and economic sectors). You will be involved in the different stages of the adaptation project cycle:
- Climate risk analysis (in collaboration with our team of climatologists)
- Definition of trajectories and adaptation plans
- Construction of monitoring-evaluation-reporting systems
Including various types of tasks, notably:
- Document analysis and synthesis / literature review
- Information gathering through interviews/focus groups/workshops
- Monitoring news on the subject, notably within the framework of work on NDCs, NAPs, the Global Adaptation Goal
- Benchmarking/peer review of feedback and best practices
- Construction of prospective scenarios
- Preparation of awareness and training materials
- Evaluation of adaptation costs
- Consideration of cross-cutting climate and biodiversity issues in adaptation monitoring and evaluation,
- Proposing frameworks for reflection to evaluate adaptation from a transformational perspective.
You will also be integrated into various project teams and participate in specific analyses supporting the missions carried out by the climate team:
- Diagnosis of climate risks for territories or private organisations,
- Support for the development of adaptation strategies/plans and economic approaches to adaptation (cost-benefit evaluation, evaluation of the costs of inaction),
- Support for the integration of adaptation into institutional processes (Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), National Adaptation Plans, etc.),
- Support for the mitigation team on carbon footprints and low-carbon strategy,
- Participation in European studies on climate topics.
You may be called upon to participate in the preparation or development of service offers on topics, in connection with all our partners.
Within the Ramboll France Climate team, building a culture of high-level mitigation and adaptation issues is a strong value: active participation of the intern in this internal dynamic is expected (sharing news, knowledge, projects, etc.).
Internship dates: As soon as possible from July 2026, according to the school programme. Minimum duration: 6 months

Required skills:
- Knowledge of climate change issues and concepts of adaptation and mitigation
- Very good writing skills

- Proficiency in Office suite software
- Knowledge of mapping software, climate modelling or econometric models would be a plus
Remuneration: €1,200 gross/month
