The media library of the Kantonsschulen Hohe Promenade and Stadelhofen is a central place for learning, research, and encounters for students, teachers, and staff at two locations. To complement our team, we are looking for an initiative-taking, digitally savvy personality as deputy head of the media library (40–50%) by agreement.
The media library of the Kantonsschulen Hohe Promenade and Stadelhofen is a central place for learning, research, and encounters for students, teachers, and staff at two locations. To complement our team, we are looking for an initiative-taking, digitally savvy personality as deputy head of the media library (40–50%) by agreement.
Your tasks
- Participation in the ongoing media library operations at both locations (lending, returns, dunning, information and advice)
- Advising students and teachers on research and information questions
- Conducting introductions and workshops on information literacy
- Assisting in the maintenance and promotion of digital offerings as well as updating the website and online catalog
- Supporting the head of the media library in projects, events, and further development of the offerings The deployment usually takes place on three to four working days per week; higher workloads during teaching time are mainly compensated during school holidays.
Your profile
- Training or further education in the information and documentation field
- Professional experience in a library or media library, ideally in an educational environment
- Experience in teaching information literacy as well as didactic skills in classes and workshops
- High affinity for digital media and developments
- Strong service and advisory skills, ability to work in a team, and enjoyment of working with young people and adults
- Confident handling of Mac computers, iPads, and MS Office; knowledge of Winmedio as well as web design or CMS is an advantage
