What you can look forward to.
You can expect a meaningful role in a versatile and varied field of work in civil engineering. In this position, you can apply and deepen your knowledge in civil engineering as well as develop and implement economical solutions for the maintenance and repair of bridges, culverts, and retaining structures. Benefits such as a free GA travelcard, discounted travel abroad – also for the family – can be found on our website under Benefits.
What you will achieve.
- As the facility manager, you monitor and assess the condition of civil engineering structures in your area of responsibility. You rely on a well-coordinated inspection team and also conduct assessments yourself.
- In case of deviations from the target condition, you plan, budget, and commission detailed condition inspections and appropriate maintenance measures.
- You carry out monitoring and maintenance measures independently as the facility manager. You commission major repair measures and control compliance with costs, deadlines, and quality.
- You assess SBB-owned construction projects and third-party railway-adjacent projects regarding compliance with standards and regulations as well as ensuring the safety and availability of the railway infrastructure.
- You are open to innovations and provide impulses to make the operation and maintenance of structures safer, more efficient, and more economical.
What you bring with you.
- You are characterised by your independent and reliable working style as well as your analytical, creative, and forward-thinking mindset.
- Furthermore, you bring cost and responsibility awareness, assertiveness, and decisiveness. You communicate appropriately and solution-oriented with a wide range of stakeholders.
- For carrying out railway-adjacent control activities and maintenance measures, we require that you complete internal training in worksite safety (self-protection, safety supervisor) and can move independently in the track area.
- You hold a degree in civil engineering (ETH/University/FH) or a comparable qualification. Experience in monitoring and maintaining civil engineering structures is an advantage.
- You communicate fluently in German (min. C1). You also hold a category B driving licence and have solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
