Laundry Management 80 - 100%With around 1,400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe. With around 400 detention places, it is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfils a central state function and, according to legal mandate, contributes to the protection of the public while simultaneously creating the conditions for the resocialisation of the incarcerated persons.
We are looking for a committed and experienced leader for our internal laundry, to start immediately or by arrangement. Together with a small team of three employees and the assigned incarcerated persons, you will ensure smooth operations. In doing so, you will continuously develop the area and its processes.
Your tasks
- Organisation and assurance of smooth operation of the internal laundry
- Leadership and development of a small team of three employees as well as professional guidance, supervision and promotion of the assigned incarcerated persons while complying with safety regulations
- Planning, coordination and management of daily business including deployment planning
- Responsibility for the procurement of operating materials as well as compliance with quality, hygiene and safety standards
- Procurement of textiles, detergents and other operating materials considering ecological and economic aspects
- Ensuring operational readiness of laundry facilities and machinery through care, maintenance and repair
- Performing safety duties in the immediate work environment
- Leading and implementing optimisation and development projects
What you bring
- Completed vocational training as a textile care specialist EFZ or a comparable qualification as well as several years of professional and leadership experience
- High social competence and confident appearance as a leader
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style
- Resilient, loyal and team-oriented personality with high physical and mental resilience
- Good user knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes
- Willingness for professional development and to complete training in penal enforcement
- Impeccable reputation (no entries in debt enforcement and criminal record extracts) and a minimum age of 25 years
