About the job
Property drainage is a central component of a climate-adapted and liveable city. As head of the department, you take responsibility for a committed team, shape the city’s principles in dealing with rainwater, and make an important contribution to the further development of the sponge city Winterthur.Your tasks
- Leadership and further development of the Property Drainage Department as well as collaboration in the management team of the Drainage Division
- Assessment of building applications and support of demanding construction projects including formulation of statements and conditions
- Consultation of property owners, architects, engineers and other specialists in the planning, execution and renovation of property drainage systems
- Further development of municipal standards for sustainable rainwater management as well as preparation of guidelines and information sheets
- Coordination of property drainage in larger, cross-departmental construction projects and representation of the city’s interests towards internal and external stakeholders
Your profile
- Degree in civil or environmental engineering (FH or university) or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
- Several years of professional experience in urban water management or property drainage; further training as a property drainage specialist is an advantage or can be acquired alongside work
- Initial leadership experience and enjoyment in leading a team, promoting employees and developing viable solutions together
- Structured, analytical and solution-oriented working style as well as a high sense of responsibility
- Confident, service-oriented manner and fluent German in spoken and written form
