About the job

Property drainage is a central component of a climate-adapted and liveable city. As head of the department, you take responsibility for a committed team, shape the city’s principles in dealing with rainwater, and make an important contribution to the further development of the sponge city Winterthur.

Your tasks

Leadership and further development of the Property Drainage Department as well as collaboration in the management team of the Drainage Division

Assessment of building applications and support of demanding construction projects including formulation of statements and conditions

Consultation of property owners, architects, engineers and other specialists in the planning, execution and renovation of property drainage systems

Further development of municipal standards for sustainable rainwater management as well as preparation of guidelines and information sheets

Coordination of property drainage in larger, cross-departmental construction projects and representation of the city’s interests towards internal and external stakeholders

Your profile

Degree in civil or environmental engineering (FH or university) or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience

Several years of professional experience in urban water management or property drainage; further training as a property drainage specialist is an advantage or can be acquired alongside work

Initial leadership experience and enjoyment in leading a team, promoting employees and developing viable solutions together

Structured, analytical and solution-oriented working style as well as a high sense of responsibility

Confident, service-oriented manner and fluent German in spoken and written form
