About the job
Your new role
You work in mobile youth work in the city centre of St. Gallen and meet young people and young adults where they spend their leisure time; in public spaces. Through your outreach and low-threshold approach, you build sustainable relationships, take up concerns and needs, and support young people in realising their ideas and projects.
You accompany young people aged 15 to 26 in various life situations, promote their self-, social and action competences, and refer them to appropriate specialist agencies if necessary. You are guided by life-world-oriented and socio-cultural approaches as well as the principles of participation.
A part of your work is the initiation, accompaniment and implementation of projects and actions together with young people. In addition, you maintain cooperation with institutions, organisations and other partners in the social space.
Since mobile youth work is part of the Open Youth Work Centre, you also work flexibly in other offers and projects of Open Youth Work. You appreciate varied fields of activity and are willing to actively contribute to the further development of the entire service area.
Irregular working hours as well as shifts in the evenings and at weekends are a fixed part of this activity.

- have a university of applied sciences degree in social work.
