The Institute for Thermo and Fluid Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland FHNW develops holistic innovation solutions along the entire value chain of thermal and fluid mechanical systems – from thorough analysis to industrial implementation. The core competencies include in particular multiphysics simulations, experimental investigations on specialized test benches, state-of-the-art measurement technology as well as the analysis and optimization of complex thermal and fluid mechanical systems.
As part of a succession arrangement and for the strategic further development of the institute, we are looking for a proven leadership personality.
Your tasks
- Overall responsibility for the strategic, professional, personnel and financial management of the institute
- Further development and implementation of the institute's strategy in the areas of education, research and continuing education
- Maintenance and expansion of cooperation with industry and research partners
- Initiation and management of demanding research and innovation projects
- Own teaching and research activities in one of the institute's competence areas
Your profile:
- University degree with a doctorate in a relevant field
- Proven success in research and/or industry as well as a sustainable professional network
- Several years of leadership experience, preferably in an expert organization
- Teaching experience as well as higher education didactic qualification or willingness to acquire it
- Strong strategic and entrepreneurial competence
- Integrative personality with high social competence and ability to cooperate
