About the job
Your Role
As a civil service volunteer, you support the group leaders in caring for children aged 4 to 13 years. You actively participate in the daily care routine, for example by playing indoors and outdoors, assisting with homework, sharing meals, and engaging in creative activities such as crafting or storytelling.
Additionally, you take on organizational and household tasks, such as setting and clearing tables, helping in the kitchen, and properly disposing of waste. Minor maintenance work is also part of your responsibilities. If needed, you participate in team meetings or supervisions.
The deployment takes place at one of the 15 locations of the day care centers of the city of St. Gallen.

Framework conditions
During the deployment, the following courses must be completed: Care of Children 1, Care of Children 2, as well as Communication and Care. The deployment is planned for a duration of at least 6 months.
Our operation
At 15 locations, we care for around 2200 school children from the municipal primary schools and kindergartens of the respective neighborhoods. At five additional locations, we operate lunch tables for teenagers from the municipal secondary schools.
