Our dental clinic in Lausanne Flon is looking for a candidate:
Dental Hygienist with collaboration in periodontology
Contract type: Permanent
Rate: 80-100%
Start date: Immediately or to be agreed
Location: Voie du Chariot 6, 1003 Lausanne
Responsibilities and tasks:
Treatments
- Using the biofilm disclosing agent, identify individual oral hygiene problems, prevent (prophylaxis and hygiene instructions), and motivate the patient to follow an optimal hygiene program through clear instructions
- Identify with the patient (visual support) possible improvements in oral health and inform them about the causes of tooth and gum diseases
- Advise patients on various manual or electric brushing aids
- Know the means and methods of professional tooth cleaning and adapt them optimally to each patient
- Master modern prophylaxis techniques (e.g., GBT technique, ITOP)
- Master motivation techniques for smoking cessation.
- Master reading, performing, and interpreting a periodontal assessment
- Manually or mechanically remove supra-gingival (= above the gum) and sub-gingival deposits and have theoretical knowledge and practical mastery of periodontal curettage treatments (Ultrasound and Manual)
- Work with the periodontist to identify necessary treatments or assessments (carious, periodontal, aesthetic, orthodontic) and refer to the relevant practitioners if necessary
- Respect the DH procedure
- Ensure the duration of treatments according to the scheduled appointment times
- Ensure patient satisfaction through feedback from patients, MDs, treatment coordinators (CT), reception, etc.
Required knowledge and professional skills:
Mandatory criteria:
- Dental Hygienist diploma
- Authorization to take radiographs in accordance with the Health Office (OFSP) guidelines
- Excellent knowledge of French
- Right to practice according to the canton
- Particular interest in periodontology
Additional appreciated criteria:
- Ability to use diode laser in intrasulcular and/or transgingival therapy.
- Training in local anesthesia
