Service Technician Rail Technology (m/f/d)
Salary - CHF65,000 - 75,000Our partner is a family-run company headquartered in Switzerland and a market leader for automated passenger and freight protection on busy railways in Europe. Railway automation and highly available radio systems complement the product range and market segments.
The company employs about 210 people and operates in several countries with locations in Switzerland, Germany, England, Italy, Austria, and Spain – as well as sales partners in Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Chile, Poland, France, Portugal, and Morocco, carefully selecting its partners to responsibly fulfil its safety-related tasks.
Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and dismantling automatic train detection and emergency stop systems at railway construction sites, testing the systems, commissioning them, and handing them over to the operators. You will be responsible for instructing users as well as maintaining and servicing the systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. You bring a completed vocational training, physical fitness, a high sense of responsibility, independence, and willingness to travel including occasional night and weekend shifts. You use your very good German and good French skills in direct communication with various stakeholders and are flexible on the move with a valid driving licence. Responsibilities:
You install mobile train warning and safety technology directly at changing deployment locations in the Swiss rail network and dismantle it after project completion.
You perform functional checks on site, commission the systems, and ensure their proper handover.
You show users how to use the technical equipment correctly and safely.
You ensure the reliable function of the systems through regular service and maintenance.
You take on regular on-call duties and are sometimes on duty at night or on weekends.
Qualifications:
You have completed a technical or vocational basic training and enjoy practical work in the field.
You are physically fit, technically skilled, and characterised by a hands-on mentality.
You organise your work independently and can adapt to responsibility and changing deployment conditions.
You are available for Switzerland-wide assembly assignments including occasional overnight stays.
You speak very good German and necessarily hold a Category B driving licence; French and a trailer permit are a plus.
