We have successfully expanded our presence in Europe over the last 8 years with locations in the DACH region in Basel (Switzerland), Böblingen, and Penzberg (Germany) and are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (m/f/d) for our office in Basel.
The focus of the role is on the planning and construction of power, lighting, grounding/connection systems, as well as special systems (e.g., communication, security, fire alarm systems, instrumentation for HVAC and process technology), cable trays, and other electrical control and building systems. Typical tasks include calculations for power load, lighting, short circuit, and voltage drop, design reports, standards assessments, single-line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications, and coordination with manufacturers and construction partners.
Project activities include leading design work in all planning phases, continuing the planning during construction, and commissioning.
Job Description
- Leadership, planning, and construction of electrical systems for advanced and complex projects in accordance with legal requirements and in coordination with other disciplines
- Close collaboration with architects, engineers, partners, suppliers
- Preparation of reports and drawings for large and complex projects
- Support for all construction activities, including responding to RFIs (Requests for Information), reviewing submissions, creating punch lists, and progress reports
- Successful communication with clients and external partners
- Budget responsibility for electrical design for small, medium, and large complex projects
- Creation of training presentations in the field of electrical planning
- Construction management including the creation of progress reports
- Quality review of documents (e.g., technical review of design calculations, documentation, design drafts)
- Mentoring and support for junior electrical engineers and designers
- Close collaboration with project managers in preparing offers, identifying design tasks, planning work hours, and project scheduling for the electrical engineering field

Qualifications
- Completed studies in electrical engineering or technical training as an installer, electrician, or plant mechanic with further education as an engineer/technician in electrical engineering or heating, ventilation, and sanitary technology (HKS)
- At least 10 years of practical experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the Life Science sector and/or the construction industry
- Knowledge and experience in the GMP area
- Experience in performing engineering calculations as well as developing and implementing electrical lighting and power supply systems
- Expert knowledge in dealing with electrical standards and regulations (e.g., NIN, EN, VKF)
- Advanced knowledge and skills to perform calculations for electrical lighting, power supply, and special systems without supervision.
- Experience and competence in solving problems with electrical systems
- Basic knowledge and experience with Revit and AutoCAD are advantageous
- High willingness to travel, including outside the DACH region
- Very good German (B2) and English (C1) skills
