- The SCAV provides services for the welfare of the population and animals. More precisely, the veterinary inspections section works to protect the welfare and health of animals.
You play a key role in animal health and protection by conducting investigations and carrying out inspections at holdings with farm animals throughout the canton, in accordance with federal animal protection legislation.
You are responsible for deciding on measures to be taken in case of non-compliance with the applicable legal provisions.
You also write inspection reports, correspondence, and administrative decisions for the concerned operators and perform various data entry and secretarial tasks related to your files.
Finally, you participate in the administrative follow-up of mandatory courses for new dog owners, notably by managing an Access database and sending various reminder letters.
Holder of a Federal VET Diploma related to animal keeping or an equivalent qualification, you ideally have a certificate of capacity as an official animal protection assistant. Otherwise, you are willing to obtain it quickly on the job, in accordance with legal requirements.
You have more than 3 years of professional experience in the field of farm animal keeping (cattle, equines, sheep, goats) and the agricultural sector or in the application of legislation related to these sectors.
Endowed with good writing skills, you master the French language and use common IT tools with ease.
Comfortable both in activities carried out independently and in teamwork, you know how to manage conflicts in sometimes dangerous situations. Stress-resistant, flexible, and motivated by animal welfare within a policing role, you integrate easily into a team and show commitment.
You hold a driving licence and have a private vehicle.
