The German Section of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lausanne is advertising a position for an assistant professor in German linguistics.
Additional Information
Start date: 1 February 2027
Contract duration: two years, renewable once for 2 years. According to the current academic planning, this position is not intended to be permanent.
Work rate: 80%
Workplace: Lausanne-Dorigny
Your Activities
Teaching load of 4 hours per week (BA or MA level seminars).
Supervision of students, examination duties.
Individual research.
Participation in research activities and administration of the Section.
Development of a post-doc project (habilitation or second book) in one of the following areas: German as a foreign language (DaF), applied linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, conversation analysis, discourse analysis or multilingualism (or related fields).
Your Profile
PhD in German linguistics, German as a foreign language or an equivalent qualification (thesis submitted and degree obtained at the time of starting the position).
Experience in teaching German linguistics at university level. Experience in obtaining third-party funding is desirable. Excellent command of German (language of instruction) is required. Good understanding of French (language of the institution) is an asset.
