Presentation
The research group of Prof. Ping-Chih Ho at the University of Lausanne is seeking a motivated and reliable Research Technician (Animal Care & Genotyping Support) to join our team on a short-term basis. This role is designed to provide critical support for mouse colony management during a team member's maternity leave.

Expected start date in position : 01.10.2026
Contract length : 5 months
Employment rate : 40% (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings)
Workplace : Epalinges
Your responsibilities
Your primary focus will be providing essential pre-work sample collection and preparation to support downstream genotyping and FACS analysis (which will be conducted by other lab members). Your tasks will include:
- Identification & DNA Prep: Performing routine mouse ear-punching for colony identification and preparing genomic DNA from the extracted tissues for PCR.
- Blood Sampling: Executing scheduled tail bleedings to collect blood samples for subsequent lymphocyte isolation.
Your qualifications
To ensure a seamless transition and allow for immediate access to our animal facility, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Mandatory Certification: Valid LTK Module 1 training (or RESAL equivalent) with up-to-date continuous education credits valid through the start date.
- Technical Expertise: Fully competent, confident, and experienced in mouse handling, ear punching, and tail bleeding techniques.
- Software Skills: Prior experience with the PYRAT colony management system is highly desirable.
- Working Style: Reliable, precise, organized, and capable of working independently during the designated morning shifts.
