To strengthen the "Network & Security" department in the Information Technology Centre (ITZ), consisting of four employees, we are looking for a Senior Network Engineer immediately or by arrangement:
Senior Network Engineer 80-100% (w/d/m) with Technical Leadership Responsibility
In this key position, you have the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a creative and collegial environment and actively shape the IT security of our university.
These tasks will inspire you:
- You lead the Network & Security team technically
- You plan, manage and implement projects in the area of network infrastructure
- You are responsible for the architecture and operation of all network systems throughout their entire lifecycle
- You ensure efficient provider, service provider and supplier management
You develop and operate automation solutions (IaC) for network and security infrastructures using Ansible, Python and APIs and sustainably optimise operational processes
- You maintain operational documentation and train your colleagues
- You conduct risk analyses, identify potential vulnerabilities and propose countermeasures
- You coordinate and lead external employees
- You ensure monitoring, service management, and compliance with SLAs
- You ensure the provision and operation of infrastructure services (Core, WAN, Datacenter, Campus)
- You carry out procurements and support budget planning in the network area
Your qualifications enrich our team:
- Experience in technical leadership or coordination of teams
- Systemic thinking and enjoyment in finding solutions to technical challenges
- In-depth network knowledge and several years of experience operating enterprise networks
Experience in automating infrastructure and network processes (Infrastructure as Code), ideally with tools such as Ansible, as well as scripting skills in Python
Experience with Git and CI/CD approaches in the infrastructure environment with a focus on sustainable automation of infrastructure processes
- A certification at Professional or Expert level
- A university of applied sciences degree in IT or equivalent professional experience
- Clear and open communication (German and English), confident written expression
