What is my role?

As Head of Network Engineering, you are responsible for the development and management of the network strategy. You oversee the solution design and implementation of modern network solutions, ensure a secure and high-performance network infrastructure, and analyse new technologies and trends. Your tasks also include identifying new business areas for network solutions, building strategic partnerships, and working closely with cross-functional teams. You develop and monitor strategies for network optimisation, implement security protocols, and are responsible for budget management and cost optimisation. As a leader, you guide, mentor, and further develop the Network Engineering team, foster a culture of responsibility and learning, and ensure effective project and resource planning.

What do I need to be successful?

For this position, our client requires from you:

• A completed university degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable field

• Many years of professional experience in network engineering, preferably in data centre environments, internet service providers, or telecommunications providers

• Expertise in network protocols, architectures, security, as well as cloud-based networks

• Comprehensive knowledge of IP networks, routing, switching, BGP, MPLS, firewalls, and load balancing

• Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management

• Proven leadership experience with a cooperative and motivating leadership approach

• Solution-oriented and structured working style with a high standard of quality and precision

• Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
