Project Manager Traffic Modeling (80 - 100%)
The Office for Mobility, as part of the Department of Economic Affairs, shapes traffic development in the Canton of Zurich with the aim of enabling demand-oriented and sustainable mobility for a livable Canton of Zurich. The main areas of responsibility include the development and implementation of overall traffic concepts and agglomeration programs, the substantive responsibility for the cantonal traffic planning, and the strategic planning of the pedestrian, bicycle, and road networks. The Department of Mobility Development and Control provides important traffic foundations for these tasks and delivers data and forecasts for future mobility in the Canton of Zurich with the overall traffic model of the Canton of Zurich (GVM-ZH) (see www.zh.ch/gvm-zh).
We are looking for you from February 1, 2026, or by agreement as a Project Manager Traffic Modeling for the Competence Center Traffic Modeling in the Department of Mobility Development and Control.

Your Tasks
- Application of the GVM-ZH to address various questions regarding the interrelationships between settlement and traffic
- Data management of the GVM-ZH and data preparation for the cantonal GIS
- Operation and further development of the GVM-ZH for future requirements and needs of data users in close collaboration with the team leader
- Project management in data collection (e.g., counting data)
Your Profile
- Completed master's degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., engineering, spatial planning, geography, economics)
- Experience in traffic planning, traffic modeling, and project management of complex, interdisciplinary projects
- Proficient handling of large data volumes and knowledge of common traffic modeling, data processing, and GIS programs
- Interest in the further development of cantonal traffic modeling with analysis and implementation of new methods and tools
- Customer- and service-oriented working style, both independently and in a team
- Convincing presentation and communication skills in German (written and spoken)
