Team Leader - Meal Distribution and Logistics
We are looking for a team leader, attached to the main kitchen sector of the CHUV, at a rate of 80% to 100%, for a permanent contract. The start date is scheduled for August 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals and one of the best in the world according to the 2026 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading and European-scale role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is responsible for ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The catering service of the Hospitality Service (HOT) is attached to the LOH Department of CHUV. It includes several large kitchens that produce more than 2.2 million meals annually for patients, employees, and visitors. This work is carried out by more than 280 professionals committed to quality and service.
In this demanding and dynamic context, we are looking for a Team Leader to coordinate the patient meal distribution activity and oversee the maintenance and cleaning of equipment and premises. This activity at the heart of the main kitchen requires great organization, directly linked to the health and well-being of patients.
Mission
As a team leader, you are a key player in the operational functioning and quality of services.
- You oversee the maintenance and cleaning of equipment, dishes, and kitchen premises, and participate in operational activities
- You coordinate activities related to the patient meal distribution chain, under the supervision of the sector manager
- You manage stocks, orders, repairs, and ensure the follow-up of maintenance and equipment
- You ensure compliance with hygiene and safety rules, as well as the application of internal procedures
- You supervise the employees under your responsibility and encourage their professional development.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as an operations agent and have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position, in collective catering or hospitality
- You have proven experience in personnel management
- You are able to develop team cohesion, notably by valuing diversity and multicultural dynamics
- You have a good command of French (spoken and written, level B2 required)
- You are punctual, autonomous, and committed to the quality of services provided
- You master common office tools (MS Office); knowledge of Polypoint is an asset
- You are ready to work in a demanding environment (heat, noise, carrying loads, little natural light)
- You are available to work variable hours (evenings, weekends, public holidays) and to provide on-call service.
We offer
Becoming a collaborator of the Lausanne University Hospital means benefiting from:
- First-class social benefits, 20 days paternity leave, and 4 months maternity leave (with the possibility of an additional month of breastfeeding leave)
- Regular salary progression adapted to responsibilities
- A 13th salary and 25 days of vacation per year
- A right to at least three days of training per year, with access to a varied offer within the CHUV Training Center and partner training centers of the State of Vaud
- Social, cultural, and economic benefits offered to members of the H-Oxygène association
- Advantages offered within the mobility plan (discounts on public transport subscriptions, promotion of "Mobility" vehicles, and discounts on the purchase of electric bikes)
- Company restaurants in each hospital building with preferential rates.
