The Opportunity
As a Field Service Engineer at HITACHI ENERGY LTD, you will take on a practical and responsible role in the country’s energy supply. In this position, you will play a crucial part in ensuring and continuously improving the reliability and lifespan of our power transformers throughout Switzerland.
Additionally, you will be motivated to participate in internal workshops and training sessions on transformer assembly as well as field service assignments – including structured onboarding and advanced training at the Hitachi Energy factories.
What You Can Achieve
- Carrying out installations as well as preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and overhauls on power transformers according to internal procedures
- Applying and enforcing Hitachi Energy’s safety standards in all assignments
- Planning, coordinating, and optimising field service assignments to ensure efficiency and quality
- Advising customers on technical questions and optimisation possibilities, as well as training customer personnel in handling our equipment
- Preparing service reports and documentation after each assignment
- Continuous further education and updating of expertise on our new equipment and technologies
- Active participation in continuous improvements within the service organisation
Your Background
- Completed technical training in mechanics, electrical engineering, or a related field (e.g. locksmith, mechanic, polymechanic, automation technician)
- Strong sense of responsibility and high sensitivity to safety requirements
- Several years of relevant professional experience in field service in the area of service or maintenance of large systems, ideally in the energy sector
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and circuit diagrams, as well as welding skills, is an advantage
- Willingness to undertake longer assignments within Switzerland (at least 1 week)
- Valid driving licence category B
- Good German skills in spoken and written form, as well as good English skills. French skills are a plus.
