Job Description
Reporting to the Director of the Fairmont Spa, the key responsibilities and functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
Fitness Instructor - Yoga Instructor
- Consistently provide a professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Welcome clients to the fitness area, regularly monitor the cardio and weight training equipment
- Ensure clients receive appropriate instructions on equipment use and provide fitness advice
- Promote and organise client/member fitness programmes and activities
- Lead several group classes daily (Yoga, Pilates, etc.)
- Sell "personal training" packages, develop sports and dietary programmes
- Offer different exercises according to clients’ requirements, abilities, and skill levels
- Assist clients during activities, ensuring correct exercise execution
- Verify that exercises and equipment use comply with safety standards
- Maintain fitness areas, ensure equipment functions correctly and is used according to guidelines
- Organise occasional or regular sports activities for clients/members
- Ensure accuracy of all attendance records and client registrations according to guidelines
- Always maintain impeccable attire, cleanliness, and hygiene
- Adhere to department policies, procedures, and service standards
- Comply with ergonomic work standards in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
- Follow all hygiene policies
- Respect company standards and all safety rules
- Perform any other assigned tasks
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in a sports or wellness centre
- A recognised diploma in a related discipline is preferred
- Training in Yoga and/or group classes
- Fluency in French
- Very good knowledge of English
- Certification in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Particularly responsible and reliable
- Ability to focus on clients’ needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical requirements of the role:
The physical requirements of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Frequent: standing or walking throughout the work period
- Frequent: lifting and carrying loads up to 30 kg
- Frequent: kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
- Occasional: climbing up or down ladders, stairs, and ramps

To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
