Official Specialist in Meat Inspection (a)

Your tasks: In a team of 4-5 people, you will conduct the inspection of slaughter animals and meat in a large slaughterhouse for pigs, calves, and cattle with rotating positions. You will decide on the suitability for consumption of a slaughtered animal and thus act as the extended arm of the official veterinarians. You will represent one of the total of 12 team members and take over the inspection of slaughter animals and meat in
small businesses. Where necessary, you will actively support the monitoring of animal welfare during slaughter and the control of slaughter and
operational hygiene. From your office with a direct view of the slaughter line, you will perform minor administrative tasks (recording of
meat inspections).
Your profile: EFZ Meat Specialist or a vocational training in the agricultural or food sector; Certificate as Official Specialist in Meat Inspection or willingness to acquire this with our support; Craft skills and good physical fitness as well as good IT user skills; Enjoyment of supporting the team even in hectic situations; Willingness to work planned irregular hours (in one to two shifts) usually from Monday to Friday. Night bonuses are paid for work before 6 a.m. The main workplace is Sursee. If suitable, assignments throughout the Canton of Lucerne are possible.
