The Swiss Specialist Office for the Visually Impaired in the Professional Environment (SIBU) belongs to Erlenhof | Foundation. People with visual impairments learn at SIBU to efficiently use individually tailored aids as the key to every professional perspective. Our clients are the cantonal IV offices.
To complement our team in the consulting department at the Basel location, we are looking for a
Rehabilitation Specialist Low Vision 50% (m/f/d)
Your field of activity:- Conducting Low Vision specific assessments: evaluation of visual potential and recommendations of compensatory work techniques for different work contexts
- Conducting specific training sessions
- Supporting and advising clients in their process of professional integration regarding their visual situation
- Application and reporting, evaluation of rehabilitation processes
- Raising awareness and advising companies or training institutions
- Low Vision specific assessments of workplaces or training places
- Maintaining interdisciplinary collaboration with other internal specialists and visually impaired specific residential support
- Completed training as a rehabilitation specialist for blind and visually impaired people with a focus on Low Vision or completed training in the field of optometry & orthoptics
- You have experience in advising and supporting people with visual impairments
- You are an independent, open, and committed personality
- You are characterized by a respectful as well as resource- and solution-oriented approach to people
- Joy and interest in working with people in different life situations and age groups
- Basically, an interest in the area of LPF (promotion and training of practical life skills) is also expected
