Specialised Clinical Nurse in the DAL & DNC

The Care Directorate of the Department of the Locomotor System (DAL) and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) is recruiting a Specialised Clinical Nurse (ICLS) for a cross-functional role within both departments.

This position actively contributes to the development of advanced nursing practices, quality and safety of care, as well as the dissemination of evidence-based knowledge, in a university environment recognised for its clinical, academic and scientific excellence.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The Department of the Locomotor System (DAL) brings together the Rheumatology, Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Plastic and Hand Surgery Services, the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Bone Diseases Centre as well as a Sports Centre. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons and joints, whether accidental or degenerative in origin.

The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) combines highly specialised medical care with academic excellence in the fields of neurosurgery, neurology, neurorehabilitation, dementia care and spinal surgery. The Human Brain Project, NeuroRestore, NeuroTech and the Innosuisse Flagship SWISSNEUROREHAB project are among the main research initiatives of the DNC.

Mission

• Ensure an expert role in nursing care based on evidence (Evidence Based Practice – EBP)
• Support interprofessional collaboration to improve clinical outcomes
• Develop a consultation, coaching and guidance offer aimed at optimising the clinical skills of teams
• Supervise and support the clinical group of the Departments composed of the ICLS of the services
• Develop prevention, health promotion and therapeutic support actions
• Participate in the dissemination and implementation of new knowledge in clinical practice.
• Promote, support and enhance nursing research within the departments, the institution and regional, national and international professional networks
• Contribute to the strategic reflections of the Care Directorates of DAL and DNC by providing advanced clinical expertise and proposing initiatives that foster excellence, innovation and continuous improvement of care.

Profile

• You hold a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Science in nursing sciences
• You have at least 5 years of confirmed clinical experience in the field of practice and in advanced clinical practice, team support and project management
• You have a strong interest in continuous improvement, clinical innovation and the development of evidence-based practices
• You are fluent in French, both spoken and written, and able to read and understand scientific literature in English
• You are comfortable using office and institutional IT tools (Windows environment)
• You master the patient record as well as aspects related to documentation and prescriptions
• You possess the following key skills:

• Mastery of quality tools and EBP approaches.
