The position is attached to the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a societal mission aimed at ensuring access to healthcare for all and an academic mission focused on pre- and post-graduate teaching and research in primary care medicine.
The Primary Care Medicine service provides outpatient care for adult patients within primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medical services to the population. As part of the HUG’s general interest missions, it provides access to healthcare for disadvantaged populations due to their age, social, economic, legal status (asylum seekers, those subject to non-admission, undocumented migrants, prisoners), or lifestyle habits; if necessary, the Primary Care Medicine service also ensures continuity of their care.
Within the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR), Primary Care Medicine Service (SMPR), the Population Epidemiology Unit (UEP) conducts large-scale epidemiological studies, including the Bus Santé study and the Specchio study ( www.specchio-hub.ch ), which aim to collect health indicators from the Geneva population.
As part of innovative projects, we are looking for a research assistant to support recruitment, communication, and coordination activities with participants.
Job Description
Within the Population Epidemiology Unit, you play a key role in the practical implementation of studies, with a strong focus on participant engagement and recruitment activities.
You participate in the establishment and monitoring of participant recruitment strategies, ensuring direct contact with the public (emails, calls, fieldwork). You contribute with great motivation to creating a positive and engaging experience for participants throughout their involvement in the studies, anticipating targets and processes to implement for better communication, retention, and recruitment.
You take part in the design and dissemination of communication materials for the unit’s projects (flyers, newsletters, web content, presentations), using design tools (e.g., Canva with the support of artificial intelligence). You ensure clarity, accessibility, and attractiveness of the content.
In coordination with the team, you support the logistical organisation of field activities (recruitment sessions, participant follow-up, contact management) and contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures.
You also contribute to the drafting of project-related documents (information sheets, procedures, recruitment materials, reports), in collaboration with the scientific team ( https://www.specchio-hub.ch/actualites ).
This position is at the interface between research, recruitment, and communication, involving regular interactions with diverse audiences.
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in social sciences, health, communication, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
Previous experience in research, health, communication, or working with the public is an asset.
You are motivated to contact participants, recruit, and discuss ongoing studies. You appreciate human relations. You have good interpersonal skills, demonstrate listening abilities, and are organised.
You possess good skills in creating digital content (for example Canva, using artificial intelligence) for flyers, videos, and social media posts.
You have good writing skills in French (English is an asset) to draft content related to studies, publications, and news.
Experience or interest in public health or research is a plus.
You are autonomous, proactive, and enjoy teamwork.

- Work rate: 80% to 100% (negotiable)
- Job grade: 10 or 14 depending on profile
- Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract renewable depending on funding
