The Appenzell Ausserrhoden Hospital Network, with the Herisau Acute Hospital and the AR Psychiatric Centre in Herisau, ensures extended basic medical care for the population in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and is also the first point of contact for a large part of the population in the surrounding region. Both locations are relevant for care within the canton and beyond.
We are looking for
In the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy under the nursing management of Ms Evelyne Uhrig, Ms Séverine Buchter and Ms Melanie Bruderer are seeking a health professional for the Addiction Treatment Ward with a workload of 80%, starting 1 August 2026 or by arrangement.

We work recovery-oriented with an addiction psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment setting. Through milieu and therapy design, we promote the participation and self-responsibility of our patients.
Attractive tasks

- Support and management of everyday situations as well as leading milieu-therapeutic groups
- Main responsibility for the organisational and logistical processes on the ward
- Support in training tasks
- Electronic documentation with ORBIS NICE and other IT systems
Therefore, we want you
- Completed training as a qualified nurse HF / health professional
- Experience in psychiatry
- Flexibility and interest in supporting teams on different wards during shortages
- Interest in working within an interprofessional treatment team
- Willingness to work shifts in a 24-hour operation
- Enjoyment of situations that are sometimes unpredictable
