Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) welcomes 4,500 students aged 3 to 18 years representing more than 130 nationalities. MIDDAY AND AFTER-SCHOOL SUPERVISOR
La Châtaigneraie Campus – Primary School
An essential role to ensure the safety and well-being of our students: enabling children to flourish in a caring and structured environment during after-school care.
In brief:
- Campus: La Châtaigneraie - Founex, Vaud
- Contract: 5 days per week (part-time) - Fixed-term contract (1 year)
- Start date: 31 August 2026 or to be agreed
- Line manager: After-school care coordinator

- Midday supervision: 1 hour 45 minutes per day
- After-school care: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Why this role is important:
As a supervisor, you ensure the continuity of Ecolint’s caring environment outside class hours. You create a safe and stimulating environment where students can relax, socialise and thrive under your watchful eye, thus ensuring a positive and balanced school experience for every child aged 3 to 11 years.
Your role and responsibilities:
Lunch supervision
- Ensure that meals take place in an organised, safe and structured manner, whether students eat in the canteen or in class, taking into account their age and school routines.
- Encourage students to participate in preparation, serving and clearing up, according to their age and school expectations.
- Support younger children by assisting them during meals, routines and expectations related to midday time.
- Supervise older students in the queue, during the meal and when clearing plates and leftovers.
- Supervise students during break time, outdoors or indoors depending on weather conditions.
After-school care
- Supervise students indoors and outdoors during after-school care.
- Plan and lead simple and stimulating activities for groups of children.
- Help prepare and serve afternoon snacks.
- Assist with setting up and tidying away materials.
- Accompany students calmly and in an organised manner between school, activities, snacks, playtime and collection times.
Safe and organised supervision
- Ensure students are supervised in a safe, calm, organised and caring manner.
- Respond to students’ needs and concerns respectfully and appropriately.
- Manage transitions so that movements between different spaces occur calmly, organised and safely.
Relationships with students
- Actively engage with the students you are responsible for, building positive relationships and gradually learning their individual needs.
- Adapt your approach when necessary, in accordance with guidance from class teachers, deputy heads or other school team members.
Collaboration and communication
- Work closely with class teachers, deputy heads and other members of the educational team.
- Share relevant observations and concerns with class teachers and deputy heads to ensure two-way communication.
Professional expectations
- Be a positive role model for students and colleagues.
- Use a positive approach to behaviour management.
- Participate in required training.
- Always embody the school’s values, including inclusion, equity, respect and kindness towards all community members.
Safety and emergency interventions
- Participate in required first aid training.
- Remain calm in emergencies, follow instructions and take appropriate initiatives when necessary.
Depending on your qualifications, experience and availability, you may be asked to:
- Occasionally cover for kindergarten classroom assistants if necessary.
- Accompany school outings if necessary.
Profile sought:
In accordance with the Vaud cantonal regulations regarding the supervision of children from age 3, candidates must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- Hold a federal certificate of capacity as a socio-educational assistant, CFC ASE, an equivalence recognised by SEFRI, or a diploma in early childhood or care issued before 2003.
- Hold a socio-pedagogical qualification with at least 2 years of educational experience.
Skills and experience
- Experience with children aged 3 to 11 years.
- Proficiency in English or French, with a good knowledge of the other language.
