System Engineer Virtualisation 80–100% (m/f/d)

As a System Engineer Virtualisation, you are responsible for the stable operation, further development, and technical quality of our virtualisation platforms.
You work closely with the platform, take responsibility in day-to-day operations, and act as a sparring partner for complex technical issues around compute and virtualisation.

This is what your job will be like:

• Operation, further development, and optimisation of VMware virtualisation environments (vSphere, vCenter, VCF, optionally Cloud Director)
• Ensuring stability, performance, and availability of the virtualisation platform
• Support and responsibility in VM Lifecycle Management
• Participation in migrations, expansions, and modernisations of datacentre environments
• Analysis and resolution of complex incidents at 2nd and 3rd level
• Close collaboration with storage, network, and backup teams
• Contribution to standardisation, documentation, and operational concepts

What you should bring:

• Several years of experience as a System Engineer in a datacentre or IT service provider environment
• Sound knowledge of VMware virtualisation (vSphere, vCenter, VCF)
• Experience in operating compute platforms in production environments
• Basic understanding of storage, network, and backup in the datacentre context
• Structured, independent, and responsible working style
• Advantageous experience with vSAN, vCloud Director, or hybrid cloud scenarios
• Ideally knowledge in automation or scripting as well as monitoring and capacity management
