The Building Construction Section of the City Construction Office is looking for a candidate starting 1 September 2026 or by arrangement
You will be responsible for project management of exciting and diverse construction projects for the municipality and the local citizen community of Aarau. Your main task is the client-side project management from the preliminary study to realisation (SIA phases 2 to 5) in collaboration with external planners as well as various city and other specialist departments. In this role, you will prudently manage the projects while keeping an eye on political, communication, and participation processes. Within the project work, you will prepare reports and proposals for the executive and legislative bodies. Furthermore, you will monitor compliance with quality, deadlines, and costs, ensuring optimal contract management in the areas of planning and realisation.
You have a university or university of applied sciences degree in architecture or comparable qualifications and experience in project management. You enjoy working in a team, are communicative, and take pleasure in coordination tasks. Moreover, you possess process-oriented thinking that also considers opportunities and risks. You bring sound judgement in urban planning and architectural matters and are characterised by negotiation skills as well as confident oral and written expression. You enjoy interdisciplinary work with various stakeholders. Further training in project management, construction economics, and sustainable building is desirable.
