The command area is an interdisciplinary main department with a variety of cross-departmental tasks. The integrated Department of Law deals with legal issues of all kinds, handles criminal, disciplinary and complaint procedures, participates in political matters in the form of co-reports and statements, and supports management on governance issues.
As reinforcement for our team, we are initially looking for a fixed-term position from 1 January 2027, with the option of extension, for a

What to expect
- Independent handling of assigned legal files, matters and procedures
- Support in dealing with legal issues related to police actions and their consequences
- Handling data protection issues within the cantonal police (requests for file inspection, file release and information, retention and deletion periods, etc.)
- Support in handling criminal, disciplinary and complaint procedures against employees of the cantonal police as well as in handling personnel law procedures
- Preparation of or participation in legal or political co-reports, consultations and statements
- Preparation or review of contracts of all kinds (procurement contracts, purchase and supply contracts, etc.)
- Lecturing activities and participation in specialised training and further education for different target groups
What distinguishes you
- You have successfully completed a law degree (licentiate/master) at a Swiss university
- Several years of professional experience, preferably with legal knowledge in the areas of administrative law, criminal law, police law, personnel law, data protection law and contract law
- You are an honest, eager-to-learn and resilient personality who enjoys working in a team
- You have confident presentation skills and enjoy working independently as well as in interdisciplinary teams
