Assistant to the Department of Economy & Work 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and the Interior and is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed institution for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and about 300 employees, it contributes according to legal mandate to the protection of the public and at the same time creates the conditions for the resocialisation of the incarcerated persons.
For the Department of Economy & Work (E&W) we are looking for a motivated, resilient and humorous personality as an assistant with immediate effect or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- In your versatile role, you support the Department of Economy & Work as well as the Directorate in organisational, administrative and professional matters and take on a central hub function
- You carefully prepare decision-making bases, create reports and contribute to the development of directives, regulations, statistics and reports
- You actively contribute to various specialist and project topics and accompany their implementation
- You ensure the flow of information within the JVA, prepare communication topics appropriately for the target audience and coordinate media enquiries
- You participate in security and crisis management and take on organisational as well as professional tasks
- You also take minutes of various meetings and conduct internal surveys and evaluations
- You independently plan, coordinate and implement tours as well as larger internal and external events
Your profile
- A completed commercial apprenticeship EFZ as well as several years of professional experience in a comparable assistant function form your professional basis
- You have excellent German language skills; further language skills are an advantage
- You are well versed in MS Office and common digital work tools and have a high IT affinity
- Organisation is your strength: even with different topics, you keep an overview, set the right priorities and work reliably
- An independent, structured and careful way of working as well as a high degree of discretion characterise you
- An impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers) is required
