About the job
Senior Physician - Geriatric Psychiatry
80%, immediately or by arrangement
Your work environment
With over 1000 employees, the University Geriatric Medicine FELIX PLATTER is one of the leading institutions in Switzerland for geriatric medicine, psychiatry, and rehabilitation. With us, the highest medical competence and genuine empathy come together – become part of our dedicated team!
The geriatric psychiatry department of the University Geriatric Medicine Felix Platter is an interdisciplinary and interprofessional working department. Through close collaboration with the medical colleagues from geriatrics, neurology, and internal medicine within the hospital, patients with extensive somatic comorbidities can also be treated in geriatric psychiatry, thus avoiding transfers to other hospitals. Geriatric psychiatry has a highly specialized setting for people with pronounced behavioral abnormalities in dementia and/or delirium in dementia. In addition, there is a close connection to the hospital's Memory Clinic, where modern (early) diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are integrated into care. The department is also involved in university research structures (e.g., Department of Biomedicine at the University of Basel), allowing staff the opportunity to actively participate in clinical and translational research projects.
