The city of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for its approximately 18,000 inhabitants with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centres, and the historic village of Kyburg.

Our team in the Building Construction Department is committed to the city’s properties - mainly schools and kindergartens - throughout their entire lifecycle. To strengthen our team at the Schlimperg school complex, we are looking for a service-oriented individual from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement as

• Organising the day-to-day operations on site. You coordinate the maintenance and repair work and support the site manager in implementing operational goals.
• Maintaining and caring for sports facilities as well as green and hard surfaces
• Ensuring structural and technical maintenance and repair work
• Ensuring proper and environmentally conscious waste disposal
• Supporting the execution of maintenance, interim, and deep cleaning in the assigned buildings and facilities
• Carrying out winter services to ensure safe traffic and access areas
• Providing professional support and participating in the management of cleaning teams
• Contributing to the implementation and further development of operational and maintenance concepts in collaboration with the supervisor.

• Have completed training as a specialist in operational maintenance with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ), specialising in building services, or have a comparable qualification.
• Ideally have completed further training as a caretaker with a federal professional certificate (BP) and possess the qualification as a vocational trainer.
• Have already gained some professional experience and enjoy the diverse requirements of a school operation.
• Convince through your commitment, strong service orientation, and reliable and appreciative manner.
• Are happy to take on responsibility and enjoy professionally guiding cleaning staff and apprentices.
• Work independently, efficiently, and solution-oriented, and keep an overview even in demanding situations.
• Have good PC user skills and ideally hold a category B driving licence.
